Blue Life USA works directly with our collecting stations to ensure the finest quality control possible. Live rock from any vendor typically needs to be cured to one extent or a nother. Anytime live rock is transported there is a chance of die-off or an ammonia spike when placed into an aquarium. Therefore, live rock is never completely cured until it is kept in its final aquarium for a minimum of 6 weeks.
Recommended handling: When receiving a fresh order of live rock, place it in a large volume of saltwater with high flow and quality protein skimming. Test daily for ammonia. If ammonia levels are high, or if water is visibly yellow, then water changes should be preformed so that the organisms living on the rock can remain in top condition. Branch and Slab styles usually require less time to cure than Premium Styles.
