Reef Octopus protein skimmers utilize the highest quality pumps on the market for their class level. Each skimmer is built to utmost quality with cell cast acrylic, unlike many other cheap skimmers made with extruded plastic. All Reef Octopus skimmers feature a gate valve for ultra pricise water level control. The collection cup was made to make maitenance a breeze, simply pull up very gently to remove, and only requires 1/2" of clearance so a tight fit is easy.

All octopus skimmers use metric plumbing parts however finding slip unions at local hardware store is quite often what customers choose to do if they need a more custom applications for external models.

Over the years octopus has always been improving on what is good and making it great, the new Pinwheel series features a newly developed ultra high performance pinwheel impeller that is provided on ALL new NWB and DWNB protein skimmers.

Reef Octopus skimmers are powered by the Hailea OTP performance pumps. They are built with high quality acrylic. The skimmer has a gate valve which allows for more precise control of water level. The collection cup has a quick release neck for easy removal for cleaning. It requires 1/2 inch of clearance to remove the cup. The Octopus skimmers uses metric plumbing parts. The pump has an improved venturi design and pinwheel impeller. A newly developed high performance pinwheel impeller that is being provided on all of the NWB skimmers as of June 1.

This is the new NWB-250 skimmer with OTP-5000 pump with a new high performance pinwheel. The result are amazing, air numbers up to 1800L/H. The model DNW-250-6550b/NW-250-6550b (Same body as RO-PS-5000Int) but powered by single OTP-5000 instead of double OTP-3000.

We want to inform people that we only use the finest materials to build our products. 90% of all the materials used in our manufacturing are imported from Japan, Germany and the United States of America. Our Bubble Blaster and Water Blaster pumps for instance use 100% imported materials to build them.  It is our effort not to hide anything from our customers unlike our competitors. It would be easy for us to make stickers and boxes saying that our products are made in Germany, Japan or some other country that has respected manufacturing reputations. How do we know this you may wonder, because Honya Corporation is building skimmers and acrylic products for almost every major company in the aquarium market. While Honya Corporation builds for other companies in the aquatics industry the Reef Octopus name and products will always be our focus in sales and manufacturing. All other companies and products built by Honya will take a back seat to Reef Octopus products. It is our goal to build the Reef Octopus name as the leader for all aquarium related products. Our facility and machinery is all state of the art. We are now completing the addition to our factory that will be the center of “Reef Octopus Laboratories” We have already hired a team of chemists and biologists who have started work on advanced salt mixtures, test kits, trace elements and many other products that we will soon be introducing to our market.  The fact of the matter is that in this global economy China is the leader of all manufacturing in the world today and we hope that hobbyist will embrace the efforts we are taking to offer high quality saltwater aquarium products and bring them to market at affordable pricing so that the average income household can be apart of this wonderful hobby we all love.
